DESCRIPTION

Located around 4km from Melbourne’s CBD, Kensington Neighbourhood House (KNH) is a busy and vibrant place where community comes together to participate in a range of inclusive social, educational and recreational programs. We offer a range of classes and activities, as well as morning childcare, and our programs have a strong focus on supporting disadvantaged people, families and older adults.

We are an organisation that punches above its weight and are proud to be the beating heart of the Kensington community since 1975.

The Manager of KNH is supported by a dedicated community Board, comprising of a mixture of locals, former and current house users and other engaged volunteers.

Our Board serves a maximum of six-year terms, ensuring the organisation regularly benefits from new and fresh perspectives.

KNH is looking to fill some vacancies on our Board.

OPPORTUNITY REQUIREMENTS

We are seeking expressions of interest from enthusiastic individuals with a range of interests and life experiences who want to make a difference and be involved in an extremely fulfilling community role. We’d be particularly interested in hearing from people with skills and experience in human resources, financial management, marketing/communications and IT.

Your time commitment would be around two hours every six weeks for Board meetings, plus a further few hours to keep up with developments and requests for assistance from the Manager.

All new Board members receive a full induction. We require a (volunteer) Working With Children Check and a Police Check.  In return you’ll be part of an amazing organisation and community and will have access to training and personal development opportunities.
